I have won the monthly writing competition again on Newgrounds.  The challenge was really interesting, to write a story twice, from two different perspectives.  I wasn't sure they would even like my story as in a sense there is hardly any story, just perspectives.  However, THEY DID :

I sometimes write little stories in the comments about what I see in people's pictures on dA - usually my favourite Artist-  Fleeting Ember - but sometimes others.  I have recently decided to put all the pictures into a Collection here on my page, so if you see any of my stories on a picture that is NOT in my Story Picture collection, please let me know.  I KNOW I am missing a few...

Sorry, I forgot to come back and tell you all, the book three of my little stories are published in is called Apples, Shadows and Light, published by Earlyworks Press. 
  In the past I have never tried to sell copies of the books I am in, as my contribution is such a small part, plus I hate to be pushy with my friends and family.  However, this time I had some interest and I have bought a few for resale- and they are going!  Next stop should really be trying to get my name on the front cover of something, but writing is just a pastime in a busy life, so I will probably continue to potter with competitions etc until I retire, piling up notes for the various plans I have.
Shout out to Fleeting Ember, who's art always inspires me.

The winning story, plus two other entries of mine will be in a book published by Earlyworks due out in 2017.  I will let y'all know the title etc when I have it.

I am still chasing that elusive name-on-the-cover with a real publisher, but it certainly keeps me going to have some success.  Micro-fiction is the only thing that ever gets me any money.  I don't know what that says about my writing; I suppose it suggests that I cannot compete at the higher levels with longer, more detailed work, but I'm never going to give up.

I need to get back to the Dragon Tree Series, I am still on Chapter Five of the third book- the Iron Sword, but I keep getting distracted by other things to do- such as my latest writing project- Split Personality- which is a conversation between different aspects of our thoughts- so far the debate/banter/argument is between Head, Heart, Appetite and Libido.  Anyone know anything about using one's work on Radio?  That is where I think it would best be used.

I keep telling myself to check FB then GET OUT.  Sometimes it works; other times I just get stuck in FB and various links for hours, when I intended to write or something.  Still, I HAVE been writing lately.  I am on chapter five of the final part of the Dragon Tree Trilogy.  Obviously, my dream of finishing it in 2015 will not happen!  I DO, however, have a few thousand words of notes written for the story ahead, so once it all starts to fall into place I really might get the first draft finished in the next year or so.  
    That, however would be just the FIRST draft.  I am still editing the previous books after 30 years of work on them.  In a way I am glad I did not find a publisher for them years ago as they are MUCH better books now and I know The Iron Sword will benefit from my experience as a writer and reader etc., making the series so much better.  Must have bath, then go to bed!

QUESTION-  How do I find a user here?  I have a username, but putting it in the Search doesn't seem to work.
